Beyond his core ERM and compliance mandate, Dr. Utomwen is a strong advocate for ESG integration and sustainability leadership within the insurance ecosystem. He has led the institutionalisation of ESG principles across WAICA Re’s operations and serves as Co-Chair of the Nairobi Declaration on Sustainable Insurance (NDSI) Taxonomy Working Group, contributing to industry-wide sustainability alignment and Africa’s transition toward resilient, inclusive, and nature-positive economic systems.
