Promoting the Adoption of the Task Force on Nature Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) in Kenya’s Banking Industry
Promoting the Adoption of the Task Force on Nature Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) in Kenya’s Banking Industry
The TNFD Secretariat in partnership with Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) is pleased to launch of the TNFD Framework themed: Promoting the Adoption of the Task Force on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures. Both recognise that the launch event will foster dialogue among stakeholders drawn from Government, academic institutions and the private sector, including from the financial services sector on the importance of addressing nature negative outcomes. The event will provide the partners with a unique opportunity to showcase how the TNFD Framework can support Kenya’s financial services sector to embed in their decision-making process nature related issues, while inevitably enhancing transparency and nature positive financing.
As a means to further elicit more dialogue around the interventions to boost nature positive outcomes and build on the strides made by the TNFD Secretariat, FSD Africa and KBA, the partners seek to achieve the following objectives.
To highlight and reinforce to the banking industry and other private sector players the importance of addressing nature loss.
Showcase the innovative green instruments that can spur nature positive financing.
Encourage banks in Kenya to embrace TNFD reporting.
Provide a platform to showcase the role of supportive regulatory frameworks in private sector-led initiatives that promote nature positive outcomes.
