Becoming Nature Positive – Book Launch

Becoming Nature Positive – Book Launch

On the eve of World Environment Day, the world’s first book dedicated to the Nature Positive movement was launched. Published by Routledge Earthscan, Becoming Nature Positive: Transitioning to a Safe and Just Future offers an in-depth exploration of the origins, significance, and implementation pathways of the global Nature Positive goal. Authored by a diverse group of leading voices in nature and sustainability, the book addresses how this goal can be realised across sectors—including business, finance, governance and civil society.

Nature Positive is a globally agreed-upon societal goal to halt and reverse nature loss by 2030. It was endorsed by all countries under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework during the UN Convention on Biological Diversity’s fifteenth Conference of the Parties (COP15) in December 2022. The aim is to ensure there is more nature in the world in the next decade than there was in the last, for the benefit of people and planet. However, critical challenges remain from financing and measurement to fostering effective multilateral cooperation.

To commemorate the launch of Becoming Nature Positive and in honour of World Environment Day, we hosted a special virtual event to engage stakeholders and spark meaningful dialogue on advancing this vital agenda.
