In collaboration with management consulting firm Oliver Wyman, ANCA is launching a report titled “The Emerging Regulatory Agenda: Improving Transparency of nature-related Risks in Africa.” This report emphasises the risks to financial and economic stability posed by nature loss and advocates for urgent action by African financial regulators to protect nature. Given that the African continent is disproportionately exposed to nature-related risks, the report proposes a series of no-regret moves for regulators to incorporate nature-related risks into financial disclosure
The launch of this report serves as an opportunity to introduce the media to ANCA’s wider nature agenda and educate them about ANCA’s role and mission. The media breakfast sensitisation event will provide an understanding of the critical role of the finance industry and financial regulators in addressing nature loss. Moreover, the event aims to introduce ANCA’s key spokesperson, Dorothy Maseke, who heads the ANCA secretariat as FSD Africa’s Lead on Nature Finance & TNFD
