As the urgency to safeguard natural capital intensifies, Africa stands at a critical inflection point—rich in biodiversity and ecosystem value, yet under-capitalised in nature-positive investment. In response, the African Natural Capital Alliance (ANCA), in partnership with the World Climate Foundation, will convene a high-level session during London Climate Action Week 2025 to tackle a pivotal question: How can Africa scale nature finance in a way that is equitable, investable, and transformative?
Set within the symbolic heart of global finance, the London Stock Exchange Group, this forum will gather leading investors, policymakers and project developers to bridge the current disconnect between capital flows and the continent’s nature-based potential. It will also spotlight the often-overlooked economic value of ecosystems and make the case for targeted investment in Africa’s natural capital as a strategic imperative for climate resilience and sustainable development.
Key Objectives and Expected Outcomes:
By convening finance, policy, and implementation under one roof, this event seeks to seed a new narrative for Africa: one where nature is not only protected, but economically valued, financed and embedded in national development.
